Turkish EU minister urges Europe to cooperate with Turkey against PKK terrorist organization

ANKARA (A.A) - November 8, 2011 - Turkey's EU Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bagis has urged European countries to make cooperation with Turkey to eliminate PKK terrorist organization.
Europe's largest human and illicit drug trafficking network is under the control of PKK terrorist organization, said Bagis who spoke to private NTV channel on Tuesday.
European countries should now be aware of their own interests, and make cooperation with Turkey to collapse this network, he added.
Bagis said that during his meetings with EU officials in Brussels, he would discuss PKK's receiving support from foreign countries, adding that PKK was killing European youth with illicit drugs.
Bagis, who will depart for Brussels on Tuesday, will hold meetings with EU Commission members especially EU Commissioner for enlargement Stefan Fule, and discuss the "positive agenda" between Turkey and the EU.
Fule mentioned "positive agenda" between Turkey and the EU while 2011 Progress Report for Turkey had been announced.
Minister Bagis will give a conference on "Turkey in Europe" in Brussels, and proceed to Latvia and then to Estonia to hold bilateral talks.
Bagis will give another conference in Latvia University on Turkey's EU membership process. He will be received by Latvian President Andris Berzins, and meet Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics to thank his country's support to Turkey's EU membership process.
Bagis will then proceed to Estonia, and meet Prime Minister Andrus Ansip and Foreign Minister Urmas Paet to discuss Turkey-EU relations.
