Turkish foreign minister: only the EU resists to give visa to Turkey

LONDON (A.A) – November 22, 2011 – Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said that only the EU was resisting to give visa to Turkey. We have discovered the dynamism of our people but the EU still needs time to discover Turkey, said Davutoglu who spoke at an award ceremony in London on Monday. He noted that foreign countries wanted to sign visa exemption agreement with Turkey, adding that Turkey signed those agreements with many countries. Davutoglu said that British society discovered the dynamism of Turkish people earlier than many other countries, adding that the reason of success of Turks in Britain was not only Turks but also the British people. Pointing out the political and economic crises around Turkey, Davutoglu said that Turkey was a rising force against those crises, and the reason of that force was healthy and functioning democracy, economic growth and active foreign policy. Davutoglu is accompanying Turkish President Abdullah Gul during his formal visit to Britain.
