Turkish foreign minister says tanks withdrew from Syrian city of Hama

ANKARA (A.A) - August 10, 2011 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Wednesday that heavy arms and tanks of Syrian army were withdrawn from city of Hama.
Davutoglu told reporters that according to information given by Turkish Ambassador in Damascus Omer Onhon, tanks and heavy arms were withdrawn from besieged Hama.
Onhon travelled this morning to Hama, where Syrian army has been staging operations, and briefed me on the recent developments in the city, said Davutoglu.
He added that Onhon held meetings with Hama's governor and other authorities and talked directly with the people in the streets.
Syrian army has been launching assault in Hama for weeks.
