Turkish Premier Erdogan inaugurates First World Children's games


ANKARA (A.A) - 25.04.2011 - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that they wanted children to live in a more tranquil, stable and prosperous world.
"We want to leave them a better world," Erdogan said while addressing the opening of the First World Children's Games in Turkish capital province of Ankara.
Erdogan wanted Children's Games to be a means for love, peace and fraternity, and Turkey was pleased to host 6,500 children in Ankara.
Erdogan once again celebrated April 23rd National Sovereignty and the Children's Day, the first and only children's festival in the world.
"We don't want children to shed tears. We consider the children of Turkey and the world as our own children and consider their happiness as our own happiness," he said.
Erdogan said Turkey supported peace and solidarity and fulfilled requirements of that, "those children have come to Ankara not only to attend the games, but to announce uniting language of sports to the world. We want children to establish friendship and not to forget this friendship forever."
Thousands of children aged 13-14 from 90 countries will participate in the Games in 13 branches.
Elementary school students will be able to watch the games free.
