Turkish president says it is states' duty to cope with marginal and extreme acts
ISTANBUL (A.A) - July 26, 2011 - Turkey's president said on Tuesday that it was the duty of states to cope with marginal and extreme acts.
Abdullah Gul said there were extreme and marginal movements everywhere in the world, but huge events should not be overshadowed by such acts.
"It is the duty of states to cope with marginal and extreme acts, otherwise we face disasters like we experienced yesterday," Gul told reporters in Istanbul.
On Friday, a gunman dressed in police uniform shot dead at least 85 people at a youth summer camp in an island, hours after a bomb killed seven in the government district in the capital Oslo. The gunman, Anders Behring Breivik, was arrested after the attacks.
