Ukrainian people pushed into fratricidal war - Lavrov

MOSCOW, May 28 (Itar-Tass) - The Ukrainian people are being pushed into a fratricidal war, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said. “The West tried to use Ukraine not as a uniting link on the European territory, but as a watershed. Those who advocated such policy did not worry about it that much,” Lavrov said on Wednesday. “The crisis in the current international relations is connected with the fact that the clear truth - people’s right to determine their destiny - is being disputed. The Western partners continue the attempts to expand the geopolitical space, including with the use of force,” he said. “We don’t impose our will on anyone. But we’re confident that in the present-day world it is necessary to recognise each other’s right to be different.
