Ulaanbaatar hosting several Northeast Asian events

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 11th International Forum of Northeast Asian Tourism (IFNAT) is starting on Thursday in Ulaanbaatar, bringing together the scholars from Mongolia, China, Russia, Japan and S.Korea. Also, a “Green city development” themed Mayors’ forum is expected to run in our capital on September 17-18. The IFNAT is to consider the issue of making Ulaanbaatar a center of MICE tourism, which stands for meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions -tourism. This is in harmony with the objectives of UB city administration’s Friendly Ulaanbaatar program. As for the Mayors’ Forum, it is being co-organized by the UB City, the Asia Foundation and the World Bank, attracting mayors and green development managers from over 40 cities of the region. The discussions wil run under main topics, including green growth, development trends, green infrastructure, investment and job opportunities. The officials consider this as the first ste for Ulaanbaatar of reaching its goal to become a model green city of the Northeast Asian region.
