UN secretary general to meet Cypriot leaders in January

NEW YORK (A.A) - Secretary General Ban Ki-moon of the United Nations will meet again Cypriot leaders in Greentree, New York in January, 2012. UN sources said on Monday that Ban would hold another meeting with President Dervis Eroglu of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias in January in Greentree, New York. Ban and two Cypriot leaders have been holding a tripartite summit in Greentree in the last two days. In the meeting, Ban and Cypriot leaders made progress in Cyprus issue, however, there were still many things to be done, said sources. Ban will hold a press conference on Tuesday regarding their tripartite summit. Eroglu and Christofias are expected to be present at the press conference too. The first tripartite summit took place in New York on November 18, 2010, the second in Geneva on January, 2011, and the third was held in Geneva on July 7, 2011. Eroglu is expected to depart from New York on Wednesday.
