US Activist: Washington Illegible To Act As Mediator In Mideast

New York, Nov 20, IRNA – Member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations Cyrus McGoldrick said Washington is not eligible to act as a mediator in the Middle East. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, he criticized the US president for blindly supporting the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza and said Washington was in no position to mediate in the Middle East issues because by standing close to Tel Aviv regime it is confronting the rest of the world. He believed the US support for the Zionists' attacks on Gaza stood in contrast with its claims of human rights advocacy, urging the US administration to end its military support for the Zionist regime. Stressing that the bombs currently showered on the Gaza people are made by the US or through its support, he said Washington not only lacks the eligibility to act as a mediator in the Middle East but also is clashing with the whole world by supporting the Zionist regime. Asked about the US' reason for considering the Gaza attacks as the Zionists’ right for self-defense, McGoldrick said the resistance of Palestinians and the attacks of the usurper regime of Tel Aviv could not be regarded the same at any account./end
