U.S. plane made emergency landing in Iran three weeks ago: Iranian official

TEHRAN,Dec.31(MNA) – The director of Iran’s Airports Company announced on Sunday that a small U.S. commercial plane made an emergency landing at an Iranian airport in Ahvaz, in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, about three weeks ago. In an interview with the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency, Mahmoud Rasoulinejad said that the plane was forced to land due to technical failure. “The plane encountered a technical problem when it was flying over Iranian airspace, so the airport gave clearance to it to land,” he said. After landing, the crew left Iran for the United Arab Emirates, he said, adding that the aircraft is currently being repaired in Iran and will be put back in service soon. The official also said that the aircraft had departed from Abu Dhabi and was bound for Amsterdam.
