West’s plan for dominance in Africa rooted in discord among Muslims:Supreme Leader

TEHRAN,Jan.30(MNA) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said that the West’s new plan to establish domination over African countries has its roots in discord among Muslim nations. The Leader made the remarks in Tehran on Tuesday during a meeting with a number of Iranian officials, ambassadors of a number of Muslim countries, and the participants of the 26th International Islamic Unity Conference, which was held in the Iranian capital on Sunday and Monday. “Today, the main policy of the hegemonistic world to confront the Islamic Awakening is creating discord among Muslims in Islamic countries and turning them against each other. Therefore, the important mission of religious and political intellectuals and academics of the Muslim world is to explain the enemy’s plot to the Islamic ummah,” Ayatollah Khamenei said. “Since the beginning of the Islamic Awakening movement, the hegemonistic world has made efforts to create stumbling blocks on its way, but if Muslims rely on the Almighty God and have strong determination to move forward, the enemy’s hindrance will definitely not hinder the progress of the Muslim world,” he added. The Leader also said, “The only way to foil the plot meant to create discord is a sense of unity among Muslims and also among various groups, sects, and parties in each Muslim country.” Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei commented on the developments taking place in Africa, saying, “The new move that the Westerners have started in Africa to establish dominance in African countries is the result of discord among Muslims and their obsession with each other.” Atrocities in Pakistan, the war and killings in Syria, and the fact that the Palestinian issue has become marginalized, the people’s voice is being silenced in Bahrain, and the people in Egypt have turned against each other have their roots in discord among Muslims, he said, adding, “Making any move that will create discord among Muslim nations or within any Muslim country is definitely playing on the field prepared by the enemy.”
