West Anti-Syrian Efforts Against Iran-Russia-China

Tehran, Oct 30, IRNA – Western states intend to inflict loss against Iran, Russia and China by their anti-Syrian efforts, Director of the Center for Modern Iranian Research Rajab Safarov said here on Monday. He made the remarks in an exclusive interview with IRNA on the sidelines of Tehran's 19th International Exhibition of Press, News Agencies, and Information Websites. “War in Syria is not in fact a war between the Syrians but it is a proxy war provoked by some western states, some regional countries and Israel; ousting Syrian government is not the major goal of this war but it is a test for the western states to see how much successful their proposals could be for ousting their enemies.” The Russian analyst added that Turkey was slided in to the Syrian crisis by the West but it failed to help the accomplishment of the West's comprehensive program for Syria. “Unfortunately, some world powers are provoking civil war in Syria on the cost of Syrians’ life in order to save their regional interests.” Iran’s 19th International Exhibition of Press, News Agencies, and Information Websites has been inaugurated in a ceremony at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Mosalla (Grand Prayers Ground) on October 28, 2012. The exhibition is hosting some 2,380 Persian dailies, magazines and periodicals while about 50 pavilions have been dedicated to international section. The 19th International Exhibition of the Press and News Agencies will continue until November 3, 2012. In October 2011, calm was eventually restored in the Arab state after President Assad started a reform initiative in the country, but Israel, the US and its Arab allies are seeking hard to bring the country into chaos through any possible means. Tel Aviv, Washington and some Arab capitals have been staging various plots in the hope of stirring unrests in Syria once again. The US and its western and regional allies have long sought to topple Bashar al-Assad and his ruling system. Media reports said that the Syrian rebels and terrorist groups have received significantly more and better weapons in recent weeks, a crime paid for by some regional Arab states and coordinated by the United States. The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the armed insurgents are foreign nationals. UN-Arab League Special Envoy on Syria Lakhdar Brahimi had earlier proposed the ceasefire between the Syrian government forces and rebel groups during the four-day Eid al-Adha holiday. The United Nations on Friday called on all parties involved in the unrest to respect the truce. The ceasefire was proposed by Iran during a recent visit to Tehran by UN-Arab League Special Envoy on Syria Lakhdar Brahimi./end
