World Powers Sowing Discord Among Muslim Nations : MP

Tehran, May 6, IRNA – A senior lawmaker said here that the global powers with the help of certain regional states are trying to sow discord and create religious conflicts in the Islamic world in order to serve their own illegitimate interests.
Alaeddin Boroujerdi, chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, made the remarks in a meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iran Majdi al-Zafiri.
According to Majlis Monday report, Boroujerdi condemned the terroristsˈ barbaric move insulting Hujr ibn Uday Al-Kindi, a companion of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), in Syria.
He reiterated that those backing terrorist groups should hold responsible for such cruel and inhuman measures.
As to Iran-Kuwait ties, he said the two Islamic nations have great capacities for fostering bilateral relations in various fields.
On regional developments, the MP acalled on all regional states to strengthen peace and stability in the entire Persian Gulf region.
Al-Zafiri, too, voiced Kuwaitˈs readiness to promote parliamentary and political relations with Iran./end
