Zarif receives new Bulgaria, Brunei, Armenia ambassadors

TEHRAN, Apr. 12 (MNA) – New ambassadors of Bulgaria, Brunei, and Armenia submitted their credentials to Iranian FM Javad Zarif on Saturday. Zarif received the three newly-appointed ambassadors in separate meetings. Meeting with Bulgaria’s Hristo Polendakov, Zarif noted the long history of Iran-Bulgaria relations and emphasized the expansion of ties in all fields of politics, economy, culture, and parliamentarian affairs. Polendakov welcomed growing ties between the two nations and said he will work on expanding relations with Iran during his mission. In a meeting with new Brunei ambassador Abdul Samad Metasan, Iranian FM said Iran and Brunei as members of Organization of the Islamic Cooperation could define new set of cooperation in international dimension. The Brunei ambassador, for his part, pointed to the status quo in his country's relations with Iran, and said, "It is an honor for me to begin my work as Brunei's envoy to Tehran." Meanwhile, new Armenian ambassador submitted his credentials in a meeting with Zarif. Iranian FM, noting the close relations of Iran and Armenia and countries’ cultural and historical communalities, stressed the expansion of ties in every possible field. Artassh Tumanian, for his part, noted that he is seeking to extend Iran-Armenia economic ties further during his term as the ambassador.
