Zimbabwe ambassador, MNA chief call for media cooperation

TEHRAN, May 3 (MNA) – Zimbabwean Ambassador to Tehran Nicholas Dlamini Kitikiti held talks with Mehr News Agency and Tehran Times Director General Reza Moghadasi on expansion of media cooperation between Zimbabwe and Iran.
Moghadasi said the two countries’ strong stance against the British imperialism provides an excellent opportunity for expanding bilateral cooperation.
The ambassador said in addition to media cooperation Tehran and Harare have great potential to enhance economic relations especially in the energy sector.
“The Republic of Zimbabwe sees no limits for the expansion of ties with Iran in all arenas, media sector in particular,” he noted.
He added that unfortunately, certain Western media outlets depict a flawed image of Zimbabwe’s internal developments, which causes misunderstandings.
The ambassador expressed hope that visits to Harare by Iranian media delegations would shed light on certain issues and show that the reality is indeed very different from what Western outlets have depicted of the country.
He also expressed appreciation for Iranians’ hospitality during the past 4 years of his term in office as the Zimbabwean ambassador to Tehran and invited Moghadasi to pay a visit to Harare in the near future.
