Positive Momentum Always Maintained In China-Malaysia Relations - Tang Rui

KOTA BHARU (Kelantan, Malaysia), Feb 22 (Bernama) -- China will continue to strengthen mutually benefitting cooperation with Malaysia and building on the mutual political trust to take the bilateral relationship to a greater direction.

Minister at China’s Embassy in Malaysia, Tang Rui said for 49 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Malaysia have always maintained a positive momentum.

“Mutual political trust between both sides continue to strengthen, and mutually benefiting cooperation continues to deepen, showing vigorous vitality.

"China and Malaysia will jointly commemorate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of comprehensive strategic partnership this year and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year, ushering in new development opportunities for bilateral relations,” he said during his speech at a charity event for students, here Wednesday.

He said both sides will continue to maintain close high-level exchanges, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, properly implement key projects such as the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) and “Two Countries, Twin Parks”, and create more new growth points for cooperation.

At the same time, both sides will also work to strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges as well as to promote tourism cooperation.

Commenting further, the minister said the development of China-Malaysia relations has brought valuable development opportunities for the youths of both countries. 

He also hoped the students will continue with their pursuit for knowledge, including in enhancing understanding of China and China-Malaysia relations.

“Youths are the future of the country, and are successors of China-Malaysia friendship. Let China-Malaysia friendship pass down from generation to generation,” he said.
