Endowments’ Minister, a number of senior officials, People’s Assembly members, several Islamic scholars and a crowd of people performed the prayer along with President al-Assad, led by Sheikh Khudre Shahrour.
Sheikh Shahrour, delivering Eid sermon, affirmed the noble meanings of Eid al-Fitr that comes after the holy month of Ramadan, saying that these meanings have been evident in spite of the unjust blockade as Syrians, Christians and Muslims, rushed to rescue the earthquake-affected people.
“We saw children who offered what have they been collecting for their feast to their counterpart of those affected by the earthquake,” Sheikh Shahrour said, stressing that this is the philosophy of joy.
He concluded the Eid sermon by asking God to preserve Syria, its people, leader and its army, wishing the wounded quick recovery.
