The President Receives A Delegation Of The Int'l Islamic Fiqh Academy And Stresses The Importance Of The Clergy's Role In Spreading The Culture Of Moderation
Baghdad / NINA /- The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the importance of the clergy's role in spreading the culture of moderation.
During his meeting, today, Sunday, at the Baghdad Palace, the delegation of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, headed by Secretary-General Qutb Mustafa Sano, and his accompanying delegation, stressed the importance of the role of clerics in spreading the culture of moderation and presenting moderate visions and ideas in dealing between religions and Islamic sects, pointing to the importance of confronting extremist ideas with moderate thought.
For his part, the Secretary-General expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic, stressing that Iraq is a founding member of the Fiqh Academy and has an active role in drawing up the Academy's policies and making decisions.
Mustafa Sano suggested that Iraq host one of the regular meetings of the Fiqh Academy, as the President of the Republic instructed the head of the Sunni Endowment to study hosting Iraq for one of the meetings. / End
