Qatari Newspapers Editorials

 
Doha, May 29 (QNA) - In their editorials Monday, Qatari newspapers emphasized that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's victory in the run-off for the Turkish presidential elections affirms that the brotherly Turkish people have said "Yes" to Erdogan" as president of the sisterly Republic of Turkiye for a new five-year term.
  In this regard, the newspapers highlighted HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's congratulations to his brother HE President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on winning a new presidential term. In a tweet, HH the Amir congratulated Erdogan on his victory, wishing him success in the new term to achieve the aspiration of the Turkish people in progress and prosperity and for the strong relations of the two countries further development and growth.
The newspapers said that the Qatari-Turkish relations have witnessed remarkable development in recent years, and are proceeding at a steady pace and solid strategy based on trust, credibility, mutual respect and common interests.
Al-Raya newspaper said in its editorial that Turkiye, whose renaissance was built by President Erdogan, returned the favor to its beloved leader and fulfilled its promise, because it realizes that the achievements made during the era of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and President Erdogan will continue if he remains in power, as he pledged to build Turkiye's great century. Yesterday, Turkiye gave everyone a lesson in democracy by holding elections easily and without abuse, as integrity was its most prominent title.
  The State of Qatar interacted positively with the Turkish elections, as HH the Amir congratulated Erdogan on winning a new presidential term, the paper said, noting that in a tweet on his official Twitter account, HH congratulated Erdogan on his victory, wishing him success in the new term to achieve the aspiration of the Turkish people in progress and prosperity and for the strong relations of the two countries further development and growth.
The paper stressed that the State of Qatar has always stood by Turkiye, which also reciprocated in the same way, so the joy of the people of Qatar in President Erdogan's victory is a sharing of the Turkish brothers' joy in their country and their democratic choice in choosing President Erdogan for a new term, pointing out that Doha and Ankara have many areas of constructive cooperation in the future, whose features were drawn by His Highness and the Turkish President. Certainly the momentum of strategic cooperation will continue in the coming days, especially since the two brotherly countries have great diplomatic weight in international politics, and they work together to achieve gains for the Islamic world and defend its just causes as well as spreading security and peace in the whole world, the paper added.
In conclusion, Al-Raya said that Qatari-Turkish ties are deeply rooted in history and have always been an example to follow, especially in the pivotal moments in the history of the Islamic nation, stressing that based on the close and well-established fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, Qatar has always been supportive of Turkiye's security, unity, stability and prosperity.  
For its part, Al-Watan newspaper said in its editorial that the State of Qatar and Turkiye are linked by strong strategic relations, reinforced by the common desire of the two brotherly countries to strengthen them in various fields. It is certain that the victory of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the presidential elections will contributes to achieving more for the good of the two countries and peoples.
The paper noted that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani expressed his wishes for further development and growth in the strategic relations between the two countries, which are already strong and well-established.
The daily underlined that President Erdogan's victory in the run-off for the Turkish presidential elections is a very important event that is in the interest of Turkiye's stability and prosperity. Those who voted for him voted in favor of consolidating democracy in Turkiye, the paper said, pointing out that Turkish people proved that democracy is a culture and not just a ballot box, as President Erdogan said that Turkiye's 85 million citizens are the winners in the elections.
The newspaper added that the Turkish people have demonstrated their ability to practice their democracy and choose their leader, noting that it is certain that this victory is ultimately the consolidation of one of the most important democracies which establishes a prosperous future for Turkiye and its people.
Al-Watan concluded by saying that President Erdogan has made profound transformation in the country through huge projects and an open foreign policy, and he is expected to achieve more in the coming years, for the benefit of his country and people. 
In its turn, Al-Arab newspaper said in its editorial that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's victory in the presidential election run-off guarantees the stability and continuity of Turkiye's policy and positions regionally and globally, and strengthens relations with the Arab and Gulf countries at various levels, including the Qatari-Turkish relations, which have witnessed remarkable development in recent years, proceeding at a steady pace and a solid strategy based on trust, credibility, mutual respect and common interests.   
    The paper stressed that the two countries' leaderships will continue the strategic cooperation relations to broader horizons based on the new presidential mandate of President Erdogan and the continuation of the Qatari-Turkish Joint Supreme Strategic Committee's last meeting held in Doha in December 2022, chaired by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
    His Highness was the first to congratulate the president on winning a new presidential term following the run-off that took place Sunday. HE President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan success in his new term to achieve the aspiration of the Turkish people in progress and prosperity and for the strong relations between the two countries' further development and growth, the paper said.
    In conclusion, Al-Arab noted the compatibility of the two leaders' political vision on many common issues concerning the Arab and Islamic nations and the Gulf region, including finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause in a way that guarantees the return of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and establishes an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and how to deal with global transformations and events, earning the two countries wide, international respect and appreciation.
    For its part, an article by Al-Sharq's editor-in-chief said that Erdogan made Turkiye a prominent figure in today's world despite all the changes and political storms. In nearly 20 years, he has moved Turkiye to the top ranks in terms of economy, military, active presence in the international scene, and a deterring force.
    Erdogan's victory in these elections is a pivotal stage to transition to a new era that will be more independent and influential in various arenas. The victory's aftermath will result in new alliances, which will be reflected on the international scene, the paper said. 
    In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that Turkiye is experiencing a new resurrection today, coinciding with the conquest of Constantinople (Istanbul) by Sultan Muhammad Al Fatih on May 29, 1453. 
    For its part, the English-language newspaper The Peninsula highlighted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's victory in the presidential election run-off, praising the Turkish democratic experience.
    The newspaper said in its editorial entitled "Turks renew confidence in Erdogan" that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani congratulated HE President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on winning a new presidential term, saying, "My dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulations on your victory. I wish you success in your new term, and that you achieve through it what the Turkish people aspire to in terms of progress and prosperity, and growth for our strong bilateral relations."
    President Erdogan's victory in one of the most momentous elections in Turkiye’s 100-year history, means a renewal of the Turkish people’s confidence in the President’s successful projects and policies, his vision for further development and confidence in the promises he made during the election campaign to the people of Turkiye, the paper highlighted. 
  In conclusion, The Peninsula referred to HE Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to the State of Qatar Dr. Mustafa Goksu's statement in which he said that these elections will open the future for the Turkish people and bring with it more goodness for Turkiye and the entire region. (QNA)
