On the Arab issue, the newspapers stressed that supporting the Palestinian cause and strengthening the steadfastness of the Palestinian people comes at the top of Qatar's foreign policy, as it spares no effort in providing the various forms of support, politically, diplomatically and economically, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian brothers, and support them by all means until the they regain all their legitimate and inalienable rights.
Al-Raya newspaper underlined in its editorial that the State of Qatar has always been keen to combat terrorism, dry up its sources, and eliminate the crime of money laundering, by developing legal legislation and continuously updating it, and has actively engaged in international efforts in order to combat terrorism and address its causes, based on its belief in the right of communities and nations to live in safety and security, away from manifestations of intimidation and extremism, as terrorism constitutes a real danger that must be addressed through a modern law in order to preserve humanity, and to confront firmly everyone who deviates from the right path.
The paper referred to the Mutual Evaluation Report for the State of Qatar, by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF), which praised the State of Qatar's efforts in combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing.
It explained that Qatar has deservedly gained the trust of the international community and international partners, as the Mutual Evaluation Report evaluated the compliance and effectiveness of the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) system and proliferation financing with international standards, noting that this itself is a new testimony to the confidence of the international community in the national authorities concerned with combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
The paper also underlined the report's assertion that Qatar has a very strong legal and regulatory framework, which makes the State of Qatar the first country in the Middle East and North Africa region whose system has a high level of compliance with all international recommendations. The report indicated that the AML/CFT system in Qatar is particularly effective in the areas of assessing and understanding the risks of money laundering, terrorist financing, and the supervision of the financial sector and risk-based supervision of the non-financial sector, seizure and confiscation of proceeds of crime, the implementation of targeted financial sanctions related to combating terrorist financing, supervision and control of the non-profit organizations sector, and protection it from terrorist financing operations.
Al-Raya concluded by saying that the State of Qatar's strategy in combating terrorism and money laundering has been commended by the United Nations and the countries that lead international efforts to eradicate this dangerous scourge, as Doha has announced more than once that combating terrorism can only be accomplished by addressing its roots and causes, noting that Qatar is proactive in confronting phenomena that pose a threat to world peace, and it is one of the first countries to issue a law to confront terrorist acts and extremism, and has an inspiring experience in the field of security and stability.
Meanwhile, Al-Sharq daily said in its editorial that supporting the Palestinian cause and strengthening the steadfastness of the Palestinian people comes at the top of Qatar's foreign policy, as it spares no effort in providing the various forms of support, politically, diplomatically and economically, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian brothers, and support them by all means until the they regain all their legitimate and inalienable rights.
The paper pointed out that the State of Qatar stands at the forefront of states supporting the Palestinian people, by giving priority to strengthening the steadfastness of the people of Jerusalem, in order to preserve the identity of the city and its Islamic and Christian landmarks and sanctities, in the face of the fierce attack launched by the occupation to Judaize the Holy City displace its people.
In this regard, the paper referred to the monthly cash assistance, which has been going on for years, provided by the State of Qatar, in coordination with the United Nations, to about 100,000 poor families in the Gaza Strip governorates, at a rate of $100 per family. This reflects Qatar's commitment and stance in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, especially the Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip, who suffer from extremely difficult economic and living conditions caused by the Israeli blockade.
In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that the Qatari support for the Palestinian cause is a solid policy, and a priority that cannot be compromised, based on the firm and principled stance to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their just cause, noting that it is a policy cared for by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, who leads the ranks in all forums in defense of the Palestinian right.

In turn, Al-Watan newspaper said that Qatar University's (QU) College of Education is one of the oldest colleges at the university, celebrating its 50th anniversary in March. It is in its endeavor to attract future educators, promote cooperative education and student-centered learning, and strengthen spiritual, emotional, physical and social aspects that are of equal importance.
HE Dean of the College of Education Dr. Hessa bint Hamad Al-Thani stressed that the college will restructure its academic programs to enhance personality building, contribute to attracting distinguished people with research capabilities and teaching potential, and seek to benefit from students who speak Arabic and English fluently, the paper said.
Al-Watan drew attention to plans to reorganize the college's programs to be more flexible to meet the needs of society and to work to increase the rate of student attraction to solve the lack of desire to join the teaching profession as it lacks Qatari students.
Al-Watan concluded by saying that motivating students to enroll in the College of Education will allow the formation of a Qatari teachers generation, which our schools desperately need to contribute to building national identity by fully qualifying the graduate to work in the teaching profession. There are indeed great efforts to improve the educational process and conduct field research to find out the reasons for this reluctance to help navigate the college's plans to attract students to this essential profession in society.
On the other hand, the English-language newspaper The Peninsula stressed that Qatar has made environmental sustainability a key part of its development plans. The State has strived for a balance between its economic growth, infrastructural development, and the preservation of its environment and natural resources.
In its editorial entitled "Qatar's climate change efforts," the newspaper said that Qatar National Vision 2030 aims at putting in place an effective legal framework and environmental institutions. It also emphasizes educating the public about climate change and their role in protecting the environment.
Following this vision, the government has embedded environmental sustainability in all its development plans. Last year, the country hosted the first-ever carbon-neutral FIFA World Cup by offsetting all greenhouse gas emissions, while advancing low-carbon solutions. Environmental protection was also an integral part of the development of World Cup infrastructure. This included building water and energy-efficient stadiums and increasing the use of recycled material in construction, the paper added.
Ahead of the World Cup, Qatar launched an initiative to plant a million trees in the country and is working to increase the share of clean energy in the national economy as it inaugurated its first mega solar power project, the 800-megawatt Al Kharsaah Solar PV Power Plant, the paper highlighted.
In conclusion, The Peninsula said that the government is also working to build two more solar power plants over the next two years with a combined capacity of 880 megawatts. (QNA)
