Qatar's Ministry Of Environment And Climate Change Discuss Circular Economy In Qatar

Doha, March 21 (QNA) - The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change organized a workshop on the state of the circular economy in Qatar. The workshop was hosted in cooperation with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). The workshop comes within the framework of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Global Green Growth Institute, to promote the circular economy as one of the main work streams to support economic diversification, and to integrate circular principles and sustainable consumption and production into the planning and implementation of national development, as well as the strategies and operations of companies in Qatar. The workshop aimed to provide basic evidence and best practices for developing circular economy policies and frameworks in Qatar, exchanging knowledge and consulting with stakeholders on circular economy initiatives, and the relevant policy landscape in Qatar and at the international level, in addition to enhancing awareness and capacity building on the concept of the circular economy, and what It means in practice, between stakeholders in the public and private sectors, sharing the findings to achieve international best practices in key sectors. The two-day workshop gathered stakeholders from the government, private sector, non-governmental organizations to familiarize them with the circular economy and the role it can play in combatting climate change and diversifying the economy.
