Russia, Iran to create international Association of digital economy

KAZAN, March 30. /TASS/. Russia and Iran are creating an international Association of digital economy for joint work on new products, with 5-6 countries ready to join it as early as this year, Executive Director of the Russian Association of Cryptoeconomics, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain (RACIB) Alexander Brazhnikov told TASS on the sidelines of the second Kazan Cryptoforum on Thursday.

"Iran and Russia have signed an agreement, <…> we are currently creating an international Association of digital economy. Its target is to make sure that this association becomes, so to say, a guarantor of joint actions, for example, of Russia, Iran and other friendly countries particularly in digital economy. <…> This may be the creation of a bitcoin, the creation of some gold standard or token, there are many options. The idea is that a number of countries around the world <…> would be ready to unite efforts to create a product that would be useful for the economy of all countries," he explained.

The association will appear as early as this year. "When we create it I think 5-6 countries will join at once," Brazhnikov said, adding that the issue is first of all about friendly countries, including CIS and Latin American nations.

Iran’s experience is useful for the creation of a joint national cryptocurrency that will serve the interests of the two countries, he said, adding that Tehran can boast serious success reached inside the country in this direction.
