Saudi Astronauts Conduct Educational Experiment on the Proliferation of Liquified Colors with Elementary Pupils in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, May 27, 2023, SPA -- Interacting through satellites, Saudi astronauts Rayyanah Barnawi and Ali Al-Garni conducted an educational experiment with elementary pupils in Saudi Arabia on the proliferation of liquified colors.
The interaction aimed at building and incentivizing a new generation of Saudi leaders, explorers and scientists, and achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's vision 2030 in terms of building human cadres and enhancing a culture of research, developing and innovation.
The educational experiments carried out from the International Space Station (ISS) are organized in cooperation with the Saudi Space Commission and in partnership with the Communication, Space and Technology Commission, the Ministry of Education, King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), and Al-Riyadh and Misk schools. The experiment enables pupils to get in touch with the two astronauts, raise questions and compare results of research in a microgravity environment with those on ground.
The experiment focused on the behavior of colored fluids, the way they change speed and shape, under decreased gravity, through stirring them to check their speed and shape and discuss the reasons of differences and the extent of influence of the decrease of gravity on their speed and shapes.
