Activity of National medical holding
Astana, November 18, 2009 (Khabar) - National medical holding should render aid of any degree of complexity so that Kazakh people would not have to go abroad for treatment. This task has been set by Nursultan Nazarbayev. The head of state received the chairman of the board of the medical holding company at the Akorda Palace. The Presdietn noted the state spent much money for the creation of this structure, over 60 billion tenge and the doctors must justify the allocated funds. National medical holding is the largest and best health center not only in Kazakhstan but also throughout Central Asia. This is a new generation of medicine. There is modern European equipment, comfortable environment for patients and highly effective methods of treatment here.
Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan:
- We’ve equipped the center with the best of advanced technologies. People from all across the republic come here and show their appreciation. However, there should be specialists appointed to use this equipment as well. We’ve agreed to involve foreign specialists into the management. The most important thing is to make it provide high-quality treatment and acquire the image which would cancel the need to go to Western countries. We’ve created a large center and now everything is up to medical officers and the management.
The staff of the national holding includes several medical centers of Astana which provide medical aid in the most complicated situations. Many unique surgical operations were performed specifically at the holding for the first time in Kazakhstan.
Kadyr Omarov, director general, Republic’s diagnostic center:
- In my opinion, the president and the government are doing a lot to support the area of medicine of Kazakhstan. There are no cuts on expenditures for the public health today even within the context of such a hard crisis period. And I believe that we have to make these funds reach people and render highly professional medical aid for the population of Kazakhstan at both the modern and world level. It’s a great task for us.
Sholpan Bulekbayeva, director general, “Republic’s Rehabilitation Center for Children” JSC:
- Our center is unique due to the fact that a comprehensive rehabilitation of children with disabilities is being carried out here. We’ve made more than 2,000 children healthier and 15% of children who had never walked before got to move on their feet without any help. There are no such centers in the world.
Mariyam Idrisova, mother:
- Children receive professional and competent aid, including medical, educational, and social. For example, for me and my son it’s truly wonderful.
80% of the national holding’s patients are receiving highly professional aid free of charge. People with serious diseases come here from all the parts of Kazakhstan. Local specialists noted that there is no need for people to go abroad for treatment. The national holding is considered to be a new quality standard for the Kazakhstani medical sector. And now all the other healthcare establishments will be gradually advanced to its level.
Almaz Sharman, chairman of board, National Medical Holding Company:
- A new program will start next year represented by a common national healthcare system which will allow for streamlining the sector of providing medical services to a large extent. Services will become more transparent and available while medical care facilities will become more competitive in the new system.
