Azerbaijani scientist delivers lecture at Imatra Summer Congresses 2013

Baku, June 22 (AzerTAc). Professor of the Baku Slavic University Rahila Geybullayeva has given a lecture in an international event entitled “Imatra Summer Congresses 2013: 25th International Summer School for Semiotic and Structural Studies” in Imatra, Finland. The Summer Congresses were organized by the support of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, City of Imatra, Niilo Helander Foundation Kulmakoulu Foundation and the Semiotic Society of Finland. The event brought together nearly 1.500-2.000 delegates from various countries. In 1988 an international collegium of semioticians, on initiative of the Toronto Semiotic Circle, convened in Imatra. They created the ISI in order to promote international teaching of semiotics and to facilitate the mobility of students in the field. Thus Imatra became the headquarters of global network of semiotic institutions.
