E-library of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences` Nakhchivan Branch launched

Baku, September 6 (AzerTAc). An electronic library of the Nakhchivan Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has been launched.
Speaking to the launch ceremony, chairman of the ANAS Nakhchivan Branch Ismayil Hajiyev praised attention paid to development of science in the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan. “This affected the ANAS Nakhchivan Branch too, as our financial and technical resources have been strengthened, and all conditions have been created for employees.”
Vasif Talibov, chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, congratulated the employees on the library`s receiving an electronic library status. “Employees of the Nakhchivan Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences should effectively use the electronic library, particularly the opportunities it offers in terms of promoting our scholars and intellectuals on a world scale, as well as for writing scientific articles, monographs and theses.” He expressed confidence “the employees of the library will successfully deal with their tasks”. Mr. Talibov cut the ribbon to officially open the electronic library.
Nakhchivan`s Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Rovshan Mammadov said a 12TB main and backup server were installed for the library. He said there were six seats in the library`s reading hall. “The library is fully equipped with technical devices as Xerox and printing machines, TV for visual and auditory usage of data in information carriers, as well as a mobile electronic dictionary.”
The E-library currently includes 33,000 books. The e-library has its website, www.e-kitab.ameanb.nmr.az, which allows it carry out information exchange with any library in the world.
The website features several sections, including Library and Electronic Catalogue. It also features feedback and search sections. The website also has Media section, which offers audio books and video files.
It also features links to other libraries.
