EDUCATION MINISTER AT "11 11" CENTER

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Education and Sciences Minister L.Gantomor Wednesday worked at this center, operated by the Government. Some six thous. people asked the Minister questions on prevailing issues of educational system, including activities and policies of the Ministry. Many issues were discussed concerning reforms in the educational system, quality of our universities, new school projects, teaching staffing, university dormitories, and the current state of sciences sector. Some people asked the Minister whether it has been decided to cross out literature lessons from national curriculum of schools. Mr Gantomor denied this allegation and said the Ministry is exploring ways to reflect greater a beauty of the Mongolian language in the literature and social sciences lessons in schools. "In twelve years of schooling, a pupil studies literature for a total of 2,347 hours", he added. This year, 85 kindergartens and 80 schools will come to services nationwide, said the Minister.
