Education Minister receives Mental Arithmetic Competition winners

Manama, Mar. 31 (BNA): Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, received the Mental Arithmetic Competition winners. The competition was held in Kuwait, with the participation of 150 students from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Students in Mental Arithmetic Programme uses lessons that employ a way of calculating using fingers, beside a counting frame called Abacus. The winner students of Bahrain achieved advanced positions in this competition. The minister praised the outstanding results achieved by students, and the great role played by Gifted Students Centre for giving the students the opportunity to employ their abilities and creative energies in various talent fields. Winner students in the competition’s first level are Alya Aburwais in first place, in second place Ebrahim Sharida, in third place Mariam Ebrahim, Nidhal Fardan in fourth place, Fatima Maytham in fifth place and Fatima Al Fardan in sixth place. In the competition’s third level Zainab Ali came in first place and in second place Hussain Ebrahim.
