International scientific conference on great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi held in Italy

Baku, June 22 (AzerTAc). An international scientific conference on great Azerbaijan`s poet Nizami Ganjavi has been held at the Trevi Fountain congress centre in Rome, Italy. The event was organized by the Institute for the East Carl Alfonso Nallino and East Institute of Naples. Prior to the conference, scientists from Azerbaijan, Germany, France and Italy, representatives of the country`s Embassy in Italy visited a monument to well-known Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi in Villa Borghese gardens on Viale Madama Letizia Street in Italy. The conference saw reports by corresponding member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Rafael Huseynov, head of the Department of Information and Translation of the Institute of Manuscripts of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Farid Alakbarli, Deputy Director of Strasbourg National Library Christophe Didier, and head of Department History of Azerbaijan Humboldt University Eva-Maria Auch. They exchanged views on life and activity of Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi, as well as his influence to the literary activity of European orientalists and his manuscripts preserving in the museums of the world countries. The event brought together representatives of scientific, research and educational circles of Italy and journalists.
