Malaysia to Host 9th International Conference on Cognitive Science in August

KUCHING (Sarawak, Malaysia) July 18 (Bernama) -- Participants of the ninth International Conference on Cognitive Science (ICCS 2013) will have the opportunity to hear the latest developments in artificial intelligence and the human mind next month. Organising committe chairman Prof. Dr Shahren Ahmad Zaidi Adruce said Thursday the four-day conference scheduled from Aug 27 to 30 will see presentations given by Prof. Jack Copeland, professor of philosophy from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand and other keynote speakers from the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. "Held for the first time in Malaysia, the conference is expected to attract researchers and practitioners of various disciplines in cognitive sciences, including anthropologists, educationalists, linguists and psychologists from the acedemic and industrial sectors," said Shahren in a statement. The conference is organised by the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas or University of Malaysia, Sarawak).
