More Thai women suffer from breast cancer

BANGKOK, January 13 (TNA) - A new medical finding suggests that an increasing number of women in Thailand have breast cancer, which has already affected over 10,000 people in the country. According to Dr. Kris Chatamra of Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn Hospital, almost 600 new cases have been found in Thailand every year. He said although breast cancer could be treated in several ways, including using laser surgery and anti-estrogen medication, all women aged over 40 should undertake breast examination at least once a year, in some cases, early treatment could be given. On Sunday, Chulalongkorn Hospital also organised a charity walk to help raise funds for less fortunate cancer patients at Her Majesty the Queen Sirikit Centre. (TNA)
