Qatar Participates in GCC Health Ministers Conference

Doha, January 05 (QNA) - The State of Qatar will Participate in the Conference of Health Ministers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries, which will kick start Tuesday in Kuwait. HE the Minister of Public Health Abdullah bin Khalid Al-Qahtani will head the Qatari Delegation to the conference during which will witness the signing of a Kuwait Document on combatting non-communicable diseases, and the launch of the electronic portal for the health guide in the GCC. The two-day conference will discuss a range of topics, most notably combatting non-communicable diseases, combatting smoking, vocational health and expatriate labour as well as issues of polio, Corona virus and Malaria-free Arabian Peninsula. The GCC health Minister will also discuss unified procurement and central pharmaceutical registration in addition to instructions for the transporting and storage of sensitive pharmaceutical products and pricing of medicines. The conference will discuss listing Dasman Center for Research and Treatment of Diabetes and Rashid Centre for Diabetes and research among the Gulf reference centres. The Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council will, as well, review a detailed report on the achievements and activities of the Executive Bureau during the thirty-eighth session in addition to a number of other health issues.
