Supreme Council of Health holds first meeting

Manama, Apr. 27 (BNA): Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired the first meeting of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) after the issuance of Royal Order 35/2019 appointing the SCH members for the new session.
Health Minister, Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh, Youth and Sports Affairs Minister, Tawfiq Al Moayyad, and representatives of the public and private health entities in the kingdom were present.
Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla, who is the SCH President, welcomed the new members and congratulated them on the precious royal trust through appointing them as members of the SCH’s Board of Directors.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the new-look SCH’s board to succeed in assuming the duties assigned to it, in cooperation with the relevant health entities in the kingdom so as to achieve comprehensive development of health services in the kingdom.
President and members of the SCH extended deepest appreciation, thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for appointing them to their posts, and to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, for their constant interest in enhancing the quality and sustainability of the health services in the kingdom.
The meeting discussed the latest developments of the National Health Insurance Project.
The SCH also discussed the restructuring of its committees, as well as mini disciplinary Committee.
It also watched presentations about its proposal on the establishment of a children's hospital and another on the national project of colonoscopy submitted by King Hamad University Hospital.
The session was also briefed about the achievements of the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), presented by the NHRA’s Chief Executive Officer.
