Thailand's floods caused 2,000 newly patients each day

BANGKOK, September 23 (TNA) - The Public Health Ministry says the ongoing flooding in Thailand has caused around 2,000 new patients each day. Thai Public Health Minister Wittaya Buranasiri said over 25,000 patients had already been diagnosed with water-borne illnesses nationwide in an inspection from September 9-21, 2012. Wittaya said headaches accounted for 50 per cent of the cases, followed by athlete’s foot, flu and depression. According to the minister, 16 Thai provinces are currently encountering floods, about half of which are in the central region. (TNA)
