Shura Council slams Iran’s interference in Bahrain’s domestic affairs

Manama, Sept. 6 (BNA): The Shura Council expressed its strong condemnation of the statements made by the Spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the conditions of prisoners in Bahrain, which are a clear interference in the internal affairs of Bahrain. 

In a statement, the council reiterated Bahrain’s categorical rejection of interference in its internal affairs, praising the mechanisms adopted by the kingdom to protect human rights, citing the role played by the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) and the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission (PDRC) in this regard.

The Shura Council emphasised the significance of adhering to the United Nations Charter's principles of good neighbourliness and non-interference in others’ internal affairs, urging Iran's officials to avoid false information that may harm relations between the two countries.
