Somali embassy executive thanks Turkish PM for his visit
ANKARA (A.A) - September 23, 2011 - An official at Somali Embassy in Ankara has said that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Somalia eradicated a belief that "Somalia was an insecure country."
Nur Sheikh Hamud Mursal, Charge d'Affaires at Somali Embassy, told the AA that Somali people would always remember Turkey's assistance.
"I would like to thank Turkey for its support and aid to my country," Mursal said.
Premier Erdogan's and Turkish delegation's visits encouraged others who wanted to extend aid to Somalia, Mursal said.
Replying to a question on the future of Somalia, Mursal said, "in fact we have great resources, but we need help to manage and use these resources. We need assistance in the areas of education, health, industry and fishery. Turkey is the only country which can help us in these matters."
