Spanish Embassy and Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia To Hold Alhambra Photo Exhibition

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 (Bernama) -- The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia and the Embassy of Spain in Malaysia will hold a month-long photo exhibition, "The Alhambra, Paradise on Earth", to celebrate the grandeur of the Alhambra, the most refined expression of the Nasrid kingdom and an icon of Spanish historical-artistic heritage and of humanity.

The photo exhibition, to be held from July 6 to Aug 6, will feature over 60 historical and recent photos and supported by multimedia videos that captivate the overwhelming beauty of the Alhambra and its gardens of the Generalife, according to a statement by the embassy here Monday.

“Every inch of this impressive construction is a carefully calculated oasis, conveying the idea of a paradisiacal garden on earth.

“From the grace of the Generalife gardens to the forest of elegant columns and Nasrid spires of the Patio de los Leones, you'll be able to admire the beauty of this magnificent monument that was declared a Spanish National Monument in 1870 and has been included in the UNESCO World’s Cultural Heritage list since 1984,” said the statement.

The photo exhibition will be displayed at the Inverted Dome Open Space gallery of the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia and will conclude with the screening of the film “The Builders of The Alhambra” on Saturday, July 8, at 3 pm.
