Speaker affirms support for joint GCC parliamentary action
Manama, Mar. 10 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, has affirmed his strong support for joint Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) parliamentary action in order to enhance GCC countries’ progress and prosperity.
Addressing a coordination meeting of the GCC Group ahead of the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and related meetings, to be hosted by the kingdom on March 11-15, the Speaker welcomed the heads and representatives of GCC countries’ legislative councils, commending their efforts to support joint GCC parliamentary action.
Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, headed the kingdom’s delegation to the GCC meeting.
During the meeting, he praised the effective role played by GCC legislative councils to enhance cooperation among member states, hailing their positive presence at various regional and global parliamentary gatherings.
