Speaker receives Palestine National Council counterpart

Manama, Mar. 14 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, President of the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, received here today the speaker of the Palestine National Council (PNC), Rawhi Fattouh, and his accompanying delegation, who are participating in the 146th IPU Assembly, currently held at the Exhibition World Bahrain.

Speaker Al-Musallam, affirmed the depth of the fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Palestine, which have been strengthened thanks to the interest of the two countries' leaderships.

He asserted that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the kingdom supports the Palestinian cause and the two-state solution, and backs international efforts aimed at consolidating regional security and stability. 

PNC Speaker valued highly the kingdom's firm stances in support of the Palestinian issue and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

He lauded the keynote speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa while opening the 146th IPU Assembly, praising the royal call for consolidating peaceful coexistence, rejecting intolerance, combating hate speech, and working for the good of humanity.

He added that the outstanding organisation of the 146th IPU Assembly adds to the kingdom's successes, under HM the King's comprehensive development process.
