24 Exponents To Battle For Glory In Larut International Thai Boxing C'ship

TAIPING (Perak, Malaysia), Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Twenty-four local and foreign boxers will take part in the two-day Larut International Thai Boxing Championship at the Batu Kurau Arena near here, starting Friday. Larut United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) Division Youth chief Mohd Amran Abdul Rahman said the championship, held with the cooperation of the Larut Parliament Sports and Recreation Club, would also see participation from Nigeria, Canada and Thailand. He said the championship which would start at 8pm, was to vie for the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Hamzah Zainudin Championship Belt since Hamzah is also the Larut Member of Parliament. "The championship is aimed at introducing Thai boxing to the Larut Parliamentary constituency and provide exposure to youths in the sport," he said when contacted by Bernama here Wednesday. He said the championship also offered cash prizes and medals to winners. "Thai boxing fans should not miss out on the opportunity to witness the event," he said. -- BERNAMA
