24 Teams to Participate in NSRU's Internatinal Power Royal 7's Rugby

KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) -- Twenty-four teams will be vying for glory at the 15th International Power Royal 7's Rugby 2013 organised by the Negeri Sembilan Rugby Union (NSRU) at the Seremban Municipal Council ground in Negeri Sembilan state on June 29-30. NSRU patron Naquiyuddin Tuanku Ja'afar said the annual rugby tournament which enters its 15th edition is being held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of NSRU. "With the growing support from foreign clubs and the fond memories of last year's final still lingering in our minds, I'm confident that the fans will be entertained to another thrilling encounter of rugby action this year," he told reporters after announcing the tournament here Tuesday. The annual international rugby tournament will be divided into two categories, namely senior clubs and schools. Last year's champion for senior clubs category, NS Wanderers which comprise seven foreign players from Fiji and Australia, will be defending their title. They would face strong challenge from 23 international and local teams which include 2003 champion Chinese Taipei RFC, and the 1999 and 2011 champion Cobra Rugby Club. In the schools category, 20 schools, including four foreign schools, have confirmed their participation. -- BERNAMA
