3rd GCC Games: Qatar Wins Second Medal in Karate
Kuwait, May 30 (QNA) - Qatar's Khaled Samir claimed on Monday the bronze medal in the kumite competition, weighing over 84 kilograms, as part of the karate competitions of the third edition of GCC Games currently held in the State of Kuwait with participation of about 1,700 athletes and to be concluded on Tuesday.
This is the second karate medal for Qatar after Adham Hashem won the bronze medal in the Men's individual kata competition on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Qatar handball team will face Bahraini team on Tuesday at the end of the handball competitions in the third Gulf Sports Games.
The match is of great importance after the competition for the gold medal was limited between the two teams, so that the confrontation would be decisive to determine the gold medalist.
Kuwait topped the overall medal table after the end of today's competitions with a total of 87 medals, followed by Bahrain in second place with a total of 59 medals, the UAE in third place with a total of 46 medals, Qatar in fourth place with 49 medals, Saudi Arabia in fifth place with 59 medals, and Oman in sixth place with 32 Medal.
