3rd GCC Games: Qatar Wins Two Medals in Fencing, Karate

Kuwait, May 29 (QNA) - Qatar's Ali Turki claimed the silver medal of foil fencing event, while Adham Hashem took the bronze medal of Men's Kata event on Sunday at third edition of GCC Games currently held in the State of Kuwait with the participation of about 1,700 athletes to be concluded on Tuesday. The two medals brought Qatar's tally of medals to 48 including 14 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 14 bronze medals. On the other hand, Qatar women's 3x3 basketball team suffered a 14-15 defeat against UAE while Qatar men's tennis team lost to Kuwait 1-2 on Sunday. Kuwait topped the overall medal table after the end of today's competitions with a total of 84 medals, followed by Bahrain in second place with a total of 57 medals, the UAE in third place with a total of 44 medals, Qatar in fourth place with 48 medals, Oman in fifth place with 29 medals, and Saudi Arabia in sixth place with 56 Medal.
