Abdullah Al Humaid Wins Qatar Chess Olympiad

Doha, October 20 (QNA) - Abdullah Al Humaid won the Qatar Chess Olympiad for students, held at Qatar National Library (QNL) in cooperation with Qatar Chess Association (QCA) and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with the participation of 60 students from various public schools. Al Humaid captured the first place in the overall ranking after collecting five points from seven rounds, while Osama Hassan came in second place with five points but with more moves, and Ahmed Al Wardani came in third place with 4 points. 15 students participated in the girls' competitions, where Sumaya Mohammed came in the first place with three points, followed by Mayar Ali in second place and Mashael Al Obaidli third with 2.5 points. QCA presented prizes for the winners in a coronation ceremony, which was attended by Executive Director of QCA Hamad Al Tamimi, and QNL's Outreach and Community Engagement Manager Dr. Nouf Khashman.
