AFC Champions League: Beijing FC Eases Past FC Seoul

Doha, December 01 (QNA) - Beijing FC recorded a comfortable win over FC Seoul 3-1, in the AFC Champions League match held at Jassem Bin Hamad Stadium. The Chinese side had won the previous encounter between the two teams nine days ago, with Fernando and A Lan getting on the scoresheet with veteran Park Chu-youngs penalty serving only as a consolation for FC Seoul. Beijing FC missed a golden chance to take the lead through Renato Augusto, who narrowly sliced wide an easy looking tap in from close range after being fed the ball from the left flank by teammate Li Lei in a fiery start to the match. Bruno Genesios men opened the scoring through a smartly executed free kick thanks to Spaniard Jonathan Viera, who fired it low into the keepers far side after he was initially fouled by Kim Won-sik. Augusto doubled the lead with a beautifully executed volley just before the first half was over, meeting Wang Gangs cross from close to the byline with extreme precision for his second goal of the tournament. Won Jun-tae pulled one back minutes from the end of regulation time, after the Korea Republic side broke with an attack that started with an excellent interception and through a series of exceptional passes, Won made no mistake in breathing life into his sides bid for the points, though to no avail. Zhang Yuning ensured his side had the final say after dribbling through the Korean defence before rounding Yang Han-been and tapping in a low shot into the centre of the net. The official website of AFC said that the result sees Beijing FC extend their 100 percent run to five wins in a row with qualification already having been sealed, while FC Seouls fortunes hang in the balance with six points from five games going into the final round of group matches, pending Chiangrai Uniteds match against Melbourne Victory.
