AFC President receives Uzbek football official

Manama, Apr.3 (BNA): Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Chairman, FIFA First Deputy President, Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa received Uzbek Football Association First Deputy President Ravshan Irmatov, currently on visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. He praised the role of the Uzbek Football Association in promoting soccer and enhancing the country’s standing on the Asian sports map. He congratulated Irmatov on his country’s hosting of the U-23 Asian Football Cup in 2022, expressing his confidence in its ability to ensure successful organization. He was briefed about football reforms undertaken in Uzbekistan and the appointment of a new board in charge of the Uzbek Football Association, in addition to the adoption of a new electoral system in line with the AFC regulations
