AFC U-23 Cup Finals: Qatar Olympic Team Intensifies Preparations

Doha, October 14 (QNA) - Qatars U-23 Olympic squad has kicked off its extensive training camp at Aspire Academy, in preparation for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers from Oct 21-31 in Doha. The 10-day training camp will end on October 20, Qatar Football Association (QFA) said. Qatar, Syria, Yemen and Sri Lanka are Group A. Qatar will play against Kuwait in two friendly matches on Oct 15 and 18. A total of 42 teams will participate in the qualifiers aiming for 15 slots in the finals in Uzbekistan. 24 players will participate in the trainings, with the four players, Mohamed Waad, Youssef Abdul Razzaq, Salah Zakaria and Hammam Al Amin joining on Thursday Oct 14 after the end of their participation with the first national team in the European qualifiers. A total of 42 teams will participate in the qualifiers to secure 15 places up for grabs the U-23 AFC Asian Cup which will be held in Uzbekistan early next year. (QNA)
