African Qualifiers, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: Niger Defeat Djibouti 4-2

Rabat, September 06 (QNA) - Niger defeated Djibouti 4-2 in the match that brought them together today, in the second round of Group A competitions in the African qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Djibouti suffered their second loss in a row after losing to Algeria 8-0 in the first round last Thursday, while Niger achieved its first victory after losing to its guest Burkina Faso (0-2) on the same day. The Algerian national team will face Burkina Faso tomorrow (Tuesday) in the same group. In Group E, Mali consolidated its lead by drawing negatively with its host Uganda. Mali raised their tally to four points, two points ahead of Uganda and Kenya, which drew 1-1 with , Rwanda who have one point in last place. In the Group J, Benin tied with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, 1-1. Benin temporarily strengthened their lead with four points, two points ahead of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which tied for the second time in a row after the first with the same result at home against , Tanzania. Tanzania will meet Madagascar tomorrow (Tuesday) in the same group. Later today, Liberia face Central African Republic in Group C, South Africa faces Ghana in Group G, and Ivory Coast will Cameroon in Group D.(QNA)
