Al Gharafa Appoint Andrea Stramaccioni as New Coach

Doha, July 14 (QNA) - Al Gharafa Club announced their official contract with Italian coach Andrea Stramaccioni to supervise the team in the new football season in Qatar Football League (QNB Stars League) 2021/2022. This came during a press conference held this evening at the club's headquarters, where the newcomer was presented to the local media in order to talk about his ambitions and goals with the team before the start of the league competitions. The Italian coach confirmed his happiness with his presence in Doha and with Al-Gharafa team in order to go through a new experience and a different challenge. Stramaccioni said, "I will be up for a new challenge. I have some information about the Qatari clubs, including Al-Gharafa Club, which has many previous titles. I received the task to work hard and get the team back on the right track." The new coach indicated that the professional players have not yet been chosen, but we will undoubtedly choose the best players who are able to provide the best for the club, and this matter will be done through coordination with the head of the football staff and the club president, and then all the remaining matters will be announced. He added that his training philosophy depends on achieving victories and will work to transfer them to the players. In addition, his thoughts are completely identical to the aspirations of Al-Gharafa, indicating at the same time that he knows many active players in the Qatari league. For his part, Mujib Hamid, the team manager, confirmed that the team seeks to compete for titles in the new season, as it will camp in Germany in preparation for the league competitions, and in the coming days the professional file will be completed by selecting players capable of providing the best for the team. Hamid explained that the German camp will include four friendly matches, which will start on August 6 and continue until August 26. Al Gharafa had officially contracted the Italian coach a few days ago, replacing Serbian Jokanovic, the former coach, who had not fulfilled the team's ambitions over the past two seasons. Al-Gharafa club seeks to appear differently in the new season, hoping to restore its long-lost glories, which prompted the club's management to search for new foreign professionals in order to support the team and achieve the desired goal. The team also decided to release four foreign professionals yesterday evening, Ivorian Sergen Cannon, Mexican Hector Moreno, Algerian Adlan Qaddoura, and South Korean Jachul. Al Gharafa club management kept only two former professionals, namely Algerian Sofiane Heni and Ivorian Jonathan. Kodjia. (QNA)
