Al Shaqab Racing's ZWELELA Gets Off the Mark at Lingfield

London, March 20 (QNA) - Al Shaqab Racing's ZWELELA (Toronado x Umm Bab) opened her account in the Play Ladbrokes 5-A Side on Football Handicap on the polytrack surface at Lingfield, England. The Richard Hannon Jnrtrained filly had shown her quality after finishing second on her debut at Newbury last year. At the Surrey course, and she was coming off a return third on March 6th. Ridden by Rossa Ryan, ZWELELA did not have to force her talent as she managed to win the 1,400-metre handicap, for three-year-old rated 70 and below, comfortably by two lengths in front of MIGHTY POWER (Markaz x Tooley Woods). ZWELELA, the daughter of Toronado, was bred by Al Shaqab Racing. Although her dam, UMM BAB (Sea the Stars), never raced, she has generated WESTEROS (Kingman), who has twice finished second in as many starts. Her progeny's record has been further enhanced with ZWELELA's victory at Lingfield. (QNA)
